Musashi felt his anger dissapate slowly as he nodded. "Yeah, you have a good point there." He said. He sighed and leaned his back on the wall of the alley, slouching a bit. He watched her curl up for a moment. He remembered a time where he could sleep like that, peaceful and serene, just to get lost in the blissfull sleep and dream away. But those days of peace for him were gone. Always alert and awake, he hardly ever slept anymore.

Lei watched him for a moment without really watching him and then looked up at the sky." How long are you going to stay here samurai ? " She was watching the clouds as they grew dark.All at once thunder boomed as lightning flashed through the sky.There seemed to be no rain though.Or at least not yet." I'm sure you have more important matter or better places to be than this alley."

Musashi looked at her for a moment then shrugged. "I don't kow, I am a wanderer really, I do what I can for money, food and stuff, I don't really have a home or any place else to go." He said thoughtfully. "I could maybe stick around for a while, you know, just to make sure those demons won't come after you." He grinned. "Kinda like a bodyguard, without pay."

Lei gave a large yawn and then drifted off mumbling " S'nice of you Eneri....." Who in the world was Eneri ? THe thunder still roared as the lightning flashed.The rain had started falling now.They were lucky though.The roofs that made the buildings of the alley were rather wide and gave just enough shelter in the rain.About ten minutes into the storm though Lei started to turn....blue.Faint lines could be seen and then her blue skin turned into soft downy blue fur.Slowly , ever so slowly her clothes were replaced by shaggy fur.Her ears grew long as her eyes grew larger and the lashes longer.Her mouth took on a canine apearance and her usual bangs fell over her face in streaks of varrying blues.She looked like a large blue wolf .

Musashi watched Her transformation with wide eyes. "Well, that isn't something you see everyday." He muttered, marveling at Lei's blue fur. He shrugged and looked up, and grinned up at the storm. He quietly krept out of the alley and leaped up, grabbing the lampost and swing around on it, letting it go he landed on the roof and drew hs sword. He had not trained in a while.Tonight was the perfect night. He started swinging his sword epertly, twirling it and twisting in almost impossible ways. Lightning flashed everytime he swung his sword and it seemed he would almost draw the storm to him.

Lei was fidgeting.She curled up in her sleep and winced." Eneri...." She seemed to be mumbling.With a sudden jolt the girl had bolted up and looked about.Everything was different from watch she had left it.She had different vision now.Saw things better.THat didn't seem to help when Lei looked down at her large blue paws.Feeling her tail toss she moaned." Not again.I thought I had more control." she stood akwardly then and swayed.Her legs bent slightly at the joints but she still stood tall.Glancing round with a whistful gaze she sighed and then screamed.Her scream was louder than the thunder and seemed to shake the earth.Luckily it also shook the demon that had lunged at her.

Musashi almost fell over at the loud scream. He immediatly dashed toward the edge of the roof and saw the demon tha had lunged at Lei." Hang on!" He yelled down to her and took a few steps back before breaking into a runn and leaping off the roof. He kicked off the wall and plunged downward, sword aimed for the demon below him.

Lei had her leg already curved and arching up.She watched the samurai's slow decent in her breaking up vision and quickly pulled it back and watched the slow dawning of fear on the demon's face as it looked up.Lei turned away as he hit and winced slightly.Tossing her tail she spoke for the first time in her shifted voice.It had the same quality as the scream had had but it didn't send you or the earth quivering.Actualy in that tone it was strangely soothing." Sorry about the scream. Something about them in shifted form having to do with the thunder....."

Musashi took hissword out of the demon and nodded. "S'alright, if you didn;t the demon would have probably attacked you by now." He said. Musashi held up his sword and let the rain clean the blood off. "Still, do they come after you like this all the time? And out of nowhere?" He asked.

Lei looked down and nodded ." A few times I've been unlucky.Some caught me in my sleep.Doesn't happen to often though because of my nose." she tapped the now black,soft and wet cap on the end of her snout." It's not new to me . " In truth she had been dealing with it for quite some time.She was just lucky that the demon inside of her had been able to heal the wounds or Lei would have died from blood loss quite awhile ago.

Musashi frowned. "Well that shouldn't have to be. You shouldn't have to leave your life everyday in fear and hiding from those demons." He said. He shook his head. "I don't get it, why is that others have to treat others that are different than them so poorly." He muttered darkly. He sighed heavily and turned back to Lei. "I will keep watch for the night, you can sleep easy, alright?" He told her smiling slightly.

Lei looked down and then suddenly scrambled up the wall.She looked round while her nose scented the air and then turned back to him." No.I don't think it wise to stay here. Besides I feel much more at home in the forest." Wether he followed or not it was up to him but Lei started running across the roofs on all fours.The large forest loomed before her and she looked around every now and then for aproaching danger.

Musashi sighed. "Exactly my point." He muttered, shaking his head solemnly before running up the wall, kicking off it and flipping to kick off the opposite wall, landing on the roof and breaking into a run after her. The forest. Musashi had called that place home more than any of the places he had stayed in over time.

Lei had stopped.She stood on all fours with her tail drooping and watched the water.There had been a sortov ditch that traveled far and seperated the forest from the city.It wasn't hard to jump but the rain had flooded over it and it was now impossible.Looking round she stood and walked forward as if to swim for it.Then her foot touched the water.THe crashing beneath it stopped abruptly and she placed the other foot before it.This was repeated slowly until she had crossed safely and shook herself from head to toe because of the rain.

Musashi stopped as well in front of the water for a moment before shrugging and sheathing his sword. He crouched down and dived into the water, coming up about halfway across, he swam the rest of the way and shook his hair of water. Not very smart since it was raining and it would get wet again but he did not care in the least. He followed Lei and when he caught up with her he put his hands behindhis head. "So, what part of the forest are we going to?" He asked curiously.
